HP ZBook 17 G6 Review - Parts Shop For HP

Posted by HPPartsShop on

If you are in desperate need of a mobile workstation with extreme performance onboard and you don’t want to hear about no desktop computers – you, friend, are at the right place.

The ZBook 17 G6 that we have with us is equipped with the eight-core Core i9-9880H processor from Intel, while the manufacturer also offers it with the Xeon E 2286M. Yes, we have already seen Core i9-9880H on some laptops (pretty thin in fact). However, you won’t see a Quadro RTX 5000 on every notebook out there. Sadly, we were only able to get our hands on an RTX 3000 model, but you will be impressed with its performance. Moreover, there are the options for ECC memory, a 4K panel and more. Not to mention the mandatory security software features of the high-end business HP laptops.

NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 (Laptop): High-end professional laptop graphics card based on the consumer GeForce RTX 2070 (TU106 chip) of with 2,304 shaders and 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Compared to the desktop variant, the GPU is clocked lower. It offers certified drivers that are optimized for stability and performance.

These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.

9880H: On Coffee Lake architecture based processor for big and heavy laptops. Integrates six processor cores clocked at 2.9- 4.8 GHz (4.3 GHz with 6 cores) that support HyperThreading. Manufactured in an improved 14nm process (14nm++). Offers an unlocked multiplier that allows overclocking of the CPU.

17.3":

This large display size is used for laptops which are mainly intended for an use on a desk.

Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

3.2 kg:

This weight is representative for typical laptops with a 14-16 inch display-diagonal.

HPPartsShop Reviews:

The laptop is perfect, except for the high price and the weight of 3.2kg. And if you don't need the optical drive, you can buy a 2nd Caddy to install a larger hard disk or solid-state drive.
